Marketing messages

When you signed up to our website you could choose to sign up to our marketing messages. If you did, then that’s awesome and we’ll be in touch by email, SMS, to let you know what’s happening at Sylvia P. It’s the best way to know when we’re releasing new products or running a promotion.

How to stop marketing messages from Sylvia P

That’s a shame, but we understand and you can come back at any time.

To stop receiving marketing messages you can do any of the following at any time:

• By contacting info@sylviap.com.au
• Through your account settings
•  By clicking on the ‘unsubscribe’ link in any email (usually at the bottom).

Once you do this, we will update your profile to ensure that you don’t receive further marketing messages. Please note that it might take a few days for all our systems to be updated, so you might get messages from us while we process your request.

Stopping marketing messages will not stop service communications (such as order or shipping updates).

Seeing adverts for Sylvia P online

Sylvia P engages in online advertising, so we can tell you all the great things that we’re up to.

Like many companies, we target Sylvia P banners and ads to you when you are on other websites and apps. We do this using a variety of digital marketing networks and ad exchanges. We use a range of advertising technologies like web beacons, pixels, ad tags, cookies, and mobile identifiers, as well as specific services offered by some sites and social networks, such as Facebook’s Custom Audience service.

The banners and ads you see will be based on information we hold about you, or your previous use of the Sylvia P website (for example, your Sylvia P search history, and the content you read on Sylvia P) or on Sylvia P banners or ads you have previously clicked on.

Your information and countries outside Europe

We have a fulfilment centre in Australia, which we use for processing orders from customers in the EU. Australia is not a country in respect of which there is a European Commission decision of adequacy, and we protect your privacy and your rights through the use of the European Commission’s standard data protection clauses. More information about these is available here http://eur-lex.europa.eu/legal-content/en/TXT/?uri=CELEX:32010D0087

Keeping your information

We’ll hold on to your information for as long as you have your account, or as long as is needed to be able to provide the services to you, or (in the case of any contact you may have with our Customer Service team) for as long as is necessary to provide support-related reporting and trend analysis only.

If reasonably necessary or required to meet legal or regulatory requirements, resolve disputes, prevent fraud and abuse, or enforce our terms and conditions, we may also keep hold of some of your information as required, even after you have closed your account, or it is no longer needed to provide the services to you.

The great news is you have a lot of rights relating to your personal information:

  • The right to be informed about how your personal information is being used (like this privacy policy!)

Cookies

We use cookies on our website, though sadly not the delicious chocolate chip kind. We use the ones on websites that help us store non-identifying data on website users through your browser. This information helps us to offer you better services on the site.

There are four main types of cookies – here’s how and why we use them.

(1) Site functionality cookies – these cookies allow you to move around the site and use our key features like “Add to Bag” and “Add to Wishlist”.

(2) Site analytics cookies – with these cookies we can measure and analyse how our customers use the site. From here we can improve the site’s functionality and your shopping experience (who doesn’t love more features).

(3) Customer preference cookies – when you are browsing or shopping on Sylvia P, these cookies will remember your preferences (like your language or location), so we don’t have to get reacquainted every time you come back.

(4) Targeting or advertising cookies – these cookies are used to deliver ads relevant to you. They also limit the number of times that you see an ad and help us measure the effectiveness of our marketing campaigns. That way we won’t bombard you with ads!

By using our site, you agree to us placing these sorts of cookies on your device and accessing them when you visit the site in the future. If you want to delete any cookies that are already on your computer, the “help” section in your browser should provide instructions on how to locate the file or directory that stores cookies. Further information about cookies can be found at https://www.oaic.gov.au/individuals/privacy-fact-sheets/general/privacy-fact-sheet-4-online-behavioural-advertising-know-your-options. Please note that by deleting or disabling future cookies, your user experience may be affected and you might not be able to take advantage of certain functions of our site, and the complete Sylvia P user experience that we love to provide for our customers.
